One of the tougher documentaries I’ve watched recently. It’s the story of the Siegel family. A successful family from Florida that decides to build the biggest house in the country. Trouble starts when the husband, or “King of the Timeshare,” runs into the same financial difficulties so many others did following the crash in 2008. Siegel had overextended himself and his business to dangerously high levels and then went into free fall without any safety net. The movie encapsulates the financial crisis and the effect on the country just about as well as anything I’ve watched.
Five Takeaways from the movie.
Money can’t buy you brains.
Money can’t buy you good taste.
Money can’t buy you a good marriage.
Money can’t buy you a functioning family.
Money can’t buy you a future.
