Tonight’s potential embarrassment and opportunity to act awkward is sponsored by The Barnes Foundation. For those not in the know, The Barnes Foundation is a private art collection in Philly that got hijacked by the city a few years ago and moved downtown from its original home so that it would be more accessible to tourists.
Anyway, because my friends are awesome and continue to invite me to events despite my Screech Powers demeanor tonight I am going to check out some art, listen to Brazilian dance rap (that’s the music according to the website), and mingle with the young Philadelphia elite. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and having to invent an occupation. Tonight I might go with being an heir to the Mardi Gras bead empire or telling people that I raise peacocks for meat. Either way I’m sure between my dancing and poor conversational skills I’ll come out of the night with a new story or two to tell. Wish me luck
